National Institute of Design Entrance Exam (NID)

The National Institute of Design is an acclaimed institute in India offering courses in designing, training and design consultancy service. It is an autonomous institute and is recognized by Government of India. This institute is well known for its study facility and well structured campus. With the increase in demand for the course and institute, it has opened many centers across India, giving opportunity for students to learn more about designing.
Every year institute along with all its centers conducts entrance exam for those who wants to seek admission for 4 yrs graduate diploma course and 2 yrs PG Diploma course. There are separate exam for both UG and PG course which is conducted in the month of January.
Courses offered in GDPD:
·         Industrial Design
·         Communication Design
·         Apparel Design
Courses offered in PGDPD:
·         Industrial Design
·         Textile and Apparel Design
·         Communication Design
·         IT Integrated Design
·         Design Management
Eligibility for GDPD:
·         Candidate must be 10+2 passed out with at least 50% marks from any recognized state board. 
·         Candidates appearing for the final exam can also apply for the exam.
·         The maximum age of the  students must not be more than 20yrs
Eligibility for PGDPD:
·         Candidate who is diploma holder from recognized institute can apply for the entrance exam.
·         Bachelor with Graduation degree from design and technical field can also apply for the exam.
·         Candidates age must be at least 27yrs
Examination Pattern:
The examination pattern consists of three design aptitude test carrying 60 points.  The objective of conducting this exam is to know the skills of students in designs, color arrangement, animation, visual design and other such areas.
Candidates also have to undergo GDPI.
Admission Procedures:
The application form can be obtained from the institute in Ahmadabad by paying DD of specific amount which should be drawn from scheduled bank under the favor of NID, Ahmadabad.  The same can also be downloaded from the NID website http://www.nid.edu/
