National Institute for Fashion Technology (NIFT) conducts entrance exam for students who want seek admission for PG course in Fashion Design, Leather Design, Accessory Design, Apparel Production and Master Program in Design, Fashion Management and Apparel Production. Students apart from written exam also have to undergo GDPI.
Eligibility:
The eligibility criteria for different courses are different according to the requirement. To get the admission in Bachelors degree in fashion management and other courses should be 10+2 pass out from any recognized board in India or from higher secondary board recognized by Association of Indian University or passed out from grade in higher secondary school exam that is conducted by National Open School with minimum 5 subjects or completed diploma from institute which is recognized by AICTE.
For students who want to seek admission for degree in Apparel Production should be 10+2 pass out with PCM subjects.
Examination Pattern:
The examination pattern for students taking up UG course in Designing Programs consist of written test like General Ability Test (GAT) and Creative Ability Test (CAT).
In GAT students are asked questions from Quantitative Ability, Communication Ability, English Comprehension and Business Domain Test along with Analytical Test. In CAT students are question to test their skills, power of observation, designing and innovative ability.
Managerial Aptitude Test (MAT) is conducted to test student’s effectiveness and interpersonal skills. Besides these test students who want to seek admission for UG course in designing programs they are required to appear for separate Situation test.
Application Procedure:
The application forms can be obtained from selected branches of Axis Bank against the payment of Rs 250/-. Forms can also be obtained through post by paying Rs 350/- and DD under the favor of NIFT New Delhi. The filled application form should be sent to The Project Manager CMS along with Rs 1000/- of examination fees.
Examination Centers:
NIFT entrance exam is conducted in centers like New Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Gandhinagar
