Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is the most reputed and important commission which responsible for recruiting candidate in various government sector jobs. These jobs are related to Civil Service sector which includes working in the position of IPS and IAS. Apart from that there will be job in service like Indian Forest, Engineering post in Railway Sector and other economical jobs. UPSC exams are the toughest exams that are being conducted under their guidance.
Geologist entrance exam is conducted by UPSC for the selection of candidate in various positions in Geology companies under government sector. Candidate need to be in the merit list to get eligible for the good positional job in geology area.
Eligibility criteria
*Candidate appearing for geologist entrance exam should have Master’s degree with Geology as a compulsory subject from any recognized university with at least 60% marks.
*Candidate who is currently appearing for final year exam can also apply for the entrance exam
*Candidate should be Indian citizen. Apart from that candidate from Bhutan, Nepal, Tibetan refugee or else person from Indian origin migrated from Sri Lanka, Pakistan and other country to India for permanent settlement, can also apply for the exam.
*Candidates age should be at least 21 yrs of age.
*Candidate should have working experience in geology field like working Geology Survey of India or working in Central Ground Water Board as Jr Hydrogeologist.
Examination pattern
Candidate appearing for Geologist exam has to answer 900 marks written paper which will carry for 2 days along with Personality Test carrying 200 marks which will be taken during interview.
The written exam consists of: General English, Geology paper 1, 2, 3 and Hydrogeology each with 200 marks. Candidates will be given 2hrs time for every paper. After completing the written exam, they have to appear for Personality Test which is of 200 marks taken by UPSC members. The personality test will be taken to judge the leadership and intellectual quality of the student.
Application procedure
Candidate appearing for this exam has to fill the Common Application Form which can be obtained from the post/head office of every city.
