Civil service is highly challenging and lucrative area which an individual always tries to enter into. The reason is the job security, high salary, incentives & allowance and is known for the powerful post that an individual can get along with all. This is the examination after which a successful candidate can enter into IAS, IPS another central service jobs. This examination is conducted by Union Publics Service Examination (UPSC) and its centers spread all across India.
Every year, lakhs of candidate apply for this examination and only few are being selected for this various high post service. Examination conducted by UPSC for civil service is the toughest exam that is conducted by the under the guidance of Indian Government.
Eligibility for the examination:
· The very first eligibility for the examination is, the candidate should be Indian nationalist, whether he/she is a refugee from Tibet or Sri Lanka with an intention of permanent settling in India.
· Candidates age must not be more than 21 yrs of age.
· Candidate must be graduated from government recognized university and established under the Act of Parliament or else which is recognized by UGC Act 1956. Graduation certificate from Open University and private university is accepted.
· Candidate who is appearing for MBBS or any other final exam can also apply for the exam.
Examination Pattern:
The Civil Service examination consists of two types Preliminary examination and Main examination. In preliminary examination candidate has to answer objective type multiple questions after which candidate will be selected for main exam.
Preliminary examination:
Candidate appearing for this exam has to answer 400 marks objective type multiple questions which is divided into 2 parts. Paper 1 consists of 200 marks from general studies and paper 2 from aptitude test. Students have to answer the paper in 2hrs and extra 20 minutes will be given.
Candidate who appear this exam is eligible for main exam
Main examination:
Candidate appearing for this exam have undergo written exam and interview. There will be 9 paper with each paper has to be completed in 3hrs. All the paper will be of 300 marks, except paper 3 of 200 marks.
Application procedure:
The application form for the civil service can be obtained from designated post office by paying Rs 20. These forms can be used for only once. Along the application form, candidate also has to send affix postage stamp Rs 6/-. The filled application should be sent to the “The Secretary, UPSC, Dholpur House, Shahajahan Road, and New Delhi-110 069.
