CAT Entrance Exam

Common Admission Test (CAT) is entrance exam that is conducted students who want to pursue MBA from recognized institute like IIM (Indian Institute Management) that is located in the selected cities of India. This is the toughest exam and is conducted by IIM.


The percentile that is secured by the candidate in CAT exam is assessed by B-schools in India. It is the most highly recognized exam for MBA course. Apart from CAT exam student also has to attend GDPI for the admission.

Eligibility:

• Candidate who wants to apply for CAT exam must have bachelor’s degree with at least 50% from any stream and from recognized university. The university should be recognized by UGC or Ministry of HRD.

• Candidate who is appearing for final year exam can also apply for CAT exam. But should submit the passing certificate after the result of final exam or else the admission will be cancelled.

• Candidate who wants to pursue PG program in Software Enterprise Management that is offered by IIM Bangalore, should have 2 years work experience in Software Company.

Application Procedure:

Candidate can obtain CAT exam application form from selected branch of Axis Bank by paying Rs 1300/- for General category and for SC/ST Rs 650/-. In some cases, CAT application form can also be obtained from IIMs by sending DD of Rs 1300/-.

Paper Pattern:

There are four sections such as Verbal Ability, Reading Comprehension, Problem Solving and Data Interpretation. All questions are objective type and having 4 options. The duration of the exam varies as the total marks of paper keep changing every year.

Candidate has to answer the question with HB pencil on OMR sheets.
