JEE 2014 application process goes fully online

Candidates taking up JEE 2014, gateway to top engineering colleges in India, will now easily process their application form online. Candidates can send all the important documents to JEE office online. 

Applicants can have their signatures and thumb impressions uploaded online. The application process is slated to begin from 15 November, 2013. However, aspirants need to ensure that they have their scanned images (in JPEG format only) of their signature, thumb impression and photographs ready.

Once the students fill the application form online, they’ll be required to upload the scanned images to JEE site, followed with examination fees through debit/credit card.

Students may also pay the examination fee at any branch of listed banks by generating an e-challan online.

CMAT is now an option to seek admission in MBA

With the new order passed by Delhi High court, B-Schools and management colleges need not have to compulsorily adopt Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) for MBA admission.

Presently, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) mandates CMAT entrance exam for students to get eligible for management course. The court also has cleared that MBA education is not considered as a technical education, which is why, the AICTE neither can take charge in MBA admissions nor monitor the process. 

Plaintiff, Romy Chacko, had disputed the Single Bench decision of making the CMAT entrance exam optional, saying the Supreme Court in a judgment had firmly stated of MBA education not falling under technical education, therefore, AICTE cannot hold its charge in MBA admissions and process.

Mr. Chacko supported his side by drawing attention to the requirement of putting a regulation for conducting entrance examination for admissions to the course before the Parliament, which in the case of CMAT was not done thereby CMAT have no legal value.

All India Bar Exam 2013 Exam Notification

The Bar Council of India has announced date of All India Bar Exam (AIBE) for December 22, the registration for the same will close on 25^th November, 2013.

The examination is conducted to test an advocate’s capability to practice law profession in India. After passing AIBE 2013 candidates will be awarded ‘Certificate of Practice’ by Bar Council of India. The examination will be conducted in 39 cities across India.

Eligibility Criteria:

Candidate must be LLB passed out and graduate from recognized university.

Application Procedure:

·         Candidate can apply online only.

·         Payment must be made through Challan only. Kindly note that online payment or payment through Demand Draft will not be accepted in any case.

·         Application fee is Rs 2500/- (examination fee) plus Rs 60/- (bank charges)

Steps to Register online:

·         Fill up your personal, educational other information. Once you’ve filled in the details, click on ‘finish’ button.

·         Registration number and password for your account will be generated and will be mailed on your email id.

·         Again log on to AIBE official website and click on ‘Login’ button on the website.

·         Enter your registration number and password here and take a print out of the challan copy.

·         Deposit the fee on the said printed challan at any Branch of State Bank of India within 24 hours of registration.

Now schools to record attendance via SMS

After a failed effort to register attendance of school students online,  Maharashtra state education department has decided to record attendance via SMS in all primary schools.

According to the reports, only 10% of one lakh schools in the state responded to the online attendance system which prompted education department to initiate the attendance through cellphone used widely by school officials and teachers. 

Recently the department conducted a survey to find out number of school using online attendance  system by government this year. Of the 1.3 lakh primary schools in state, only 10,000 schools have adopted the SMS system. Right from the month of June, primary schools were asked to register daily attendance of both teachers and students through software.

The online attendance system is aimed  to monitor students and teachers attendance  in all primary schools. This way, authorities can take immediate action against such schools with poor attendance. According to state education rule, all students and teachers should have 80% attendance in a year. 

The department would prepare an application for cellphone for the attendance system which can be downloaded freely by teachers on their phones and send the attendance to the department on the daily basis.

State education director Mahavir Mane said, “ The online system will not be scrapped. We have installed software where each primary school has been given a login identity to register their attendance details. A report was prepared to review the system. Only 10,000 primary schools were found to have registered attendance, so far. The schools that fell short of the mandatory attendance have been warned. However, more awareness would be conducted about the system."
