Karnataka AIPGMEE 2015 Entrance Test for PG Course



The Department of Medical Education has released the date of AIPGMEE 2015 exam. The examination is held for PG courses to private and government colleges. Interested candidate can apply before 10th October, 2014.
The examination will be held from 1st to 6th December, 2014. Department of Medical Education has confirmed that there will be no separate entrance test for private medical colleges and all the candidates including in-service will have to appear for a single examination.
 
The merit list earned with this exam would be used by the Department of Medical Education for allotment of PG seats in various disciplines of Medical and Dental streams. 

Students can apply online along with the prescribed fees as per the notification issued by National Board of Examination.

Test Pattern:
Examination shall be a multiple-choice questions test delivered using computer network. The test comprises of 300 multiple choices, single correct response questions in English language only. There shall be no negative marking.

AIPGMEE is applicable for J&K, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

AIIMS MD 2015 Admission Dates Announced



All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) has announced the date sheet for MD, MDS and MS programmes.  Students who want to take admission in PG courses at AIIMS need to appear for entrance exam which will be conducted in the month of November, 2015.

AIIMS offers courses like Master of Surgery (MS), Doctor of Medicine (MD), Master of Chirurgical (Mch) and Master of Dental Surgery.

Dates for MD/MS Programme:
Date: November 9th
Duration: 3 hours
Questions: 200 Multiple choice
Course: MBBS level subjects
Negative Marking: 1/3 for every wrong answer

For MDS Programmes-
Duration: 90 Minutes
Questions: 90 Multiple choice
Course: BDS level subjects
Negative Marking: 1/3 for every wrong answer

NMAT 2015 Preparation Tips



Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) the leading management institute in India is set to conduct NMAT 2015 from October 7 till December 20, 2014.

With less time left for the preparation, you need to be well organized on what and how you prepare. If you are appearing for NMAT for the first time, then you can go through tips mentioned on preparation and crack the exam successfully:

·         Know about the subject very well and their syllabus. Understand how marks are being divided in every subject that will help you in preparing accordingly. You can even focus in important part of the subject.  Moreover, plan a strategy of your practice on specific subject.

·         Try to make your weak areas strong. You can follow strategy to make it strong:
a) First practice and understand solved examples
b) Practice unsolved exercises
c) Move on to Mock Tests
d) And finally, solve last years’ NMAT papers

·         Keep revising every subject, the more you revise the more you gain confident on the subject. However, don’t waste your maximum time on subject which you are clear with.

·         You will be attempting 120 questions in 120 minutes, so every minute is valuable for you. There is shortcut for each topic of every section. You can refer shortcuts provided by your coaching institutes.

·         Try to practice subjects in an alternate manner. Practice quant section on one day and verbal section on the second day. Devote different days for different subjects to make perfection.

·         Towards, the end of September, start practicing mock tests. Taking up last years’ question papers in the final few days is the best deal.

IIT Kharagpur announces last date to apply for Short Term Course



Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur will be conducting short term courses in Educational Leadership from October 17-19, 2014. 

Candidate interested in applying for the course can fill –up the application form available on IIT Kharagpur Website, apply and send the hard copy along with the Demand Draft in favor of “Dean CEP-STE”payable at Kharagpur, to the coordinator by Speed post.

The course is designed for teachers/faculty of AICTE approved technical educational institutions, colleges and universities. Main objective behind this course is:

·          To educate the participants about various concepts, theories and models of leadership

·         To assess  various leadership styles and giving feedback to participants regarding effective leadership styles in educational setup

Eligibility Criteria:
Research Scholars and Company Executives are eligible to participate in this course. Candidate must complete higher course from AICTE/UGC approved colleges.
Approval Letter from concerned authority is mandatory

Guidelines you must know set by UGC for Distance Education



Distance education, in other words known as online learning has been prevalent for the past 5 decades, and since then every university and institute in India has been offering online programs for various courses. The course is mainly applied by working professionals and those who can’t afford classroom sessions. But over the period of time, the standard of open learning has been complained by takers. 

Institutions including deemed, private and public universities have started cashing on situation by offering distance education in section of programmes. However, with sub-standard and poor standard of facilities has degraded the situation.  Some universities are even offering online course against UGC norms, which eventually bring the student or working professionals into problem during jobs.

UGC guidelines for Distance Learning:
University Grant Commission (UGC) has set some guidelines on universities offers online programs. Mentioned below are few:

·         Courses which need practical knowledge should not be included in open learning. They need to be included under full time course. Only which do not involve practical course, can be included in distance mode.

·         Proper framework must be essential in distance education mode. The framework must indicate number of credits required, list of courses with assigned credits, reading reference in addition to self-learning material, hours of study, contact classes at study centers, assignments, examination etc.

·         Having an official approval from UGC to offer distance learning is very important. No institute has the power to offer online program without UGC approval.  The same goes with the accreditation.
