HRD minister wants to boost Sanskrit language in schools



National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT) have been roped by HRD minister to organize a 3-day national seminar on 'Challenges in Sanskrit Teaching and Learning' from August 7 as part of the Sanskrit week.

According to the sources in CBSE revealed that, “"A meeting was held on June 5 under school secretary and attended by heads of NCERT, CBSE, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya. It was decided to take special measures to encourage study of Sanskrit. It was also decided that each Kendriya Vidyalaya will have Sanskrit prayer in the morning."

Eminent Sanskrit scholars and teachers from across India will be joining the seminars to focus on issues like Sanskrit curriculum, syllabus, and textbooks; supplementary reading material in Sanskrit and curricular activities; use of computer and audio-visual material in teaching and learning of Sanskrit and development of E-content in Sanskrit.
