JEE Main and JEE Advanced expected to merge in 2015

According to the sources, JEE Main and JEE Advanced will be merge in the year 2015. This decision has come from Human Resource Development (HRD) Ministry.

If this merging takes place, than all central government funded engineering schools will select students through a common entrance examination in 2015, this also includes IIT.

According to the government decision, all engineering colleges, including the IITs, will have to conduct common counseling for students in 2014. 

Presently, all government funded technical institutes including IIT’s and NIT’s select students on the scores of JEE (Main). Also, students seeking admission in IITs need to crack the JEE-Advanced examination.
