Special Class Railway Apprentice Examination

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is India’s most high profile government organization and conducts toughest entrance exam for those who want to enter into various Government related high profile jobs in sectors like Railway, Defence, Naval, Police and such sectors. Every year, UPSC undertakes entrance exams to select students in any one of the sector. One such exam is Special Class Railway Apprentice Examination which is conducted to select students in Mechanical Department in Indian Railway.
 Every year lakhs of students apply for this examination and very few are being selected for designated post. Candidate has to appear for interview session also which is conducted during selection process.  Candidate can have 100% job assurance after passing both the selection procedure.
Eligibility criteria for SCRA
*Candidate appearing for this test should be passed out from first or second division or from any of the examination conducted by university or board with PCM as compulsory subject.
*Candidate who has passed our Graduation, with Physics and Chemistry as subject can also apply for the exam. The University should be approved by Government of India.
*Candidate who has successfully passed out from Pre-Professional/ Pre-Engineering exam from University approved by Government of India is eligible.
*Candidate’s age should be between 17-21 and should Indian Nationalist
Examination pattern for SCRA
The SCRA exam is divided into 3 sections for maximum 600 marks with every section should be completed in 2hrs.
Paper 1: General Knowledge question of 200 marks
Paper 2: Physical Science question of 200 marks
Paper 3: Mathematics questions of 200 marks
Apart from above written exam, students who get good designated marks will appear for Personality Test for 200 marks
Application Procedure for SCRA
All candidates who are appearing for SCRA exam has to fill Common Application form which is supplied by UPSC. Candidate can obtain the application form from nearest Post / Head office by paying Rs 20/-. This form can be used only once and the duly filled form should be sent to:
