Indian Forest Service Examination

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is India’s reputed commission runs under the guidance of Government of India. It is known for conducting examination and recruiting students for various posts in field of Civil Service which includes IPS, IAS, and designated post in Police force, Railways, Medical Service in Government and other public related jobs. To get into any of higher post related jobs in any Government sector, one has to appear for entrance conducted by UPSC for specific post and area.
The Indian Forest Service Examination is conducted by UPSC to recruit candidates for officers post in Indian forest.  The IFS was created in the year 1966 for conservation resources found in various Indian forests. Officers who are recruited through this exam have a very challenging and rewarding field to undertake because they have to manage and supervise various resources of India’s forest.
Eligibility for IFS exam:
·         Candidate appearing for this exam should have bachelors degree in Agriculture, Forestry from recognized university. Apart from it 10+2 should be from science background as PCM, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Biology any one of this subject should be taken up.
·         Candidate should be at least 21 yrs of age
·         Candidate should be Indian Nationalist. Apart from it, if the candidate is from Bhutan, Nepal or Sri Lanka or from any other country and is permanently settling to India can also apply.
Examination Pattern:
Candidate has to appear for written exam and also for Personality test which will take at the time of interview:
The written exam will be of 1400 marks, where  300 marks of General English, 300 marks of General Knowledge and 200 marks each from 2  selected subject from the list of 14 subject. Apart from it candidate has to appear for Personality Test which will be of 300 marks which will be taken UPSC members.

The application form can be obtained from post/head office from any part of city by paying Rs 20/-. Candidate has to fill Common Application Form and submit it to:
