DU CATE Entrance Exam

Delhi University conducts entrance exam under the guidance of Department of English. It is known as Delhi University Common Aptitude Test for English (DUCATE). This entrance exam is conducted for those students who want to seek admission in the undergraduate course of BA (Hons) English. This test is conducted in 12 affiliated colleges with Delhi University. According to the rules of DU SC/ST and Foreign students have no need of appearing this exam as they are directly admitted to the course. The final selection of the student along with marks in entrance exam merit in common aptitude is also considered.


Eligibility:

• Candidate who wants to appear for the entrance exam should be10+2 exams from any recognized board with at least 60% marks in English subject.

• Candidate should bring at least 60% marks in best of four subjects in final exam

• Candidates who are waiting for 12th exam result can also apply for exam.

Examination Pattern:

The exam pattern for DU CATE is divided in two parts:

Part One:

There are multiple choice questions with four options in every question and students have to mark any one option. There will be no negative marking for wrong answer

Part Two:

To appear for paper 2 students should appear for paper One. There will be only descriptive and subjective types of questions.

Application Procedure:

The application form for the DU CATE exam can be obtained from university counter or from post office by paying some cash for the form. After filling the application form it should be sent to the Chairperson of the DU CATE exam. This form should be reached before the due date or else the admission will be rejected.
